About Code Compass

Code Compass is an independent site that helps parents choose the right coding program for their kid. It is written by Sarah Bennett, a former middle-school computer-science teacher and mom of two.

We are different from most kids coding roundups because we actually try the programs with real children and recommend by fit, the kid's age, goals, learning style and the family budget, not by which company pays the most. We are happy to tell you when a free tool like Scratch or Code.org is all your child needs. Read our review method and our affiliate disclosure.
